George Macor's Articles and In-depth Statistics

This website has been in existence since about 2000 and is the result of my interest in sports, Notre Dame and college football in particular. I am an engineering graduate of Notre Dame, class of 1961, after a four year enlistment in the USAF. Exposure to the power of the computer led to the databases.

The "AP FOOTBALL POLL FILE" is a comprehensive history of the 1936-2016 polls including yearly summaries and coaching records of the 51 men who have won AP National Championsips.

The data was developed with macro-driven Excel spreadsheets and transferred to the website in html format by my son-in-law Paul Mitchell, who was its creator. Paul also provided the ability to enter new data as it occurs. I am forever thankful for his ongoing help and interest with comments and suggestions, the recent "Articles and Special Stats" an example.
